GENERAL INFORMATION

REGISTRATION DESK

Registration will open at the conference venue, in the foyer of the new Law Building Annexe, University of Sydney, from Sunday 11th October from 9.00am, open prior to the start of workshop.

Between 9.00am and 10.00am on Sunday, ACS staff will help direct the research master class participants to the venue, Charles Perkins Centre on other side of the University of Sydney campus.

The registration desk will be staffed by 2016 ACS Organising Committee members each morning before sessions commence and during breaks.

NAME BADGES

Participation in the ACS 2016 meeting is limited to registered delegates.  The official meeting name badge is required for admittance to all session, social activities and the exhibition area.  If you have any problems with your name badge please see a committee member at the registration desk located in the foyer of the new Law Building annexe, University of Sydney.

CONTACT ACS 2016 COMMITTEE MEMBERS

Committee members can be contacted through the registration desk from 8.30 – 9 am each morning, during morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

CATERING

All workshop and conference catering will be provided in the Sponsor Exhibition area in new Law Building Annexe. Please visit out sponsors as you enjoy a bite to eat. Lunch, afternoon tea, and evening canapés will be provided on Sunday. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea on Monday and Tuesday, and morning tea and lunch will be served on Wednesday. Catering for special dietary requirements will be provided according to your dietary preferences indicated during registration.

WI-FI & INTERNET ACCESS

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available across the University of Sydney campus to conference delegates.  [Sentence about password] *get this info from ‘Venues’ Additionally; those of you with University appointments should be able to use your usual wifi login details on the campus wide Eduroam network.


 

MOBILE PHONES

Mobile phone use is prohibited during presentations.  Please turn off all mobile phones or pagers prior to entering a session room.  If you must leave a session early please exit quietly.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURE

In the event of the fire alarm being activated please evacuate the building immediately. The assembly point for the Charles Perkins Centre is along Grose Farm Lane between the two ovals adjacent to CPC, and for the new Law Building it is the library lawn opposite the pedestrian mall (Eastern Avenue). Please follow instructions provided by ACS staff.

INFORMATION FOR SPEAKERS

Presentations should be prepared with Microsoft PowerPoint and emailed or a USB given to your Session Chair at least 24 hours prior to your presentation.  Presentations will be strictly kept to schedule and speakers are encouraged to leave time for questions.  Please be at your session 15 minutes prior to session start to check your slides with the Session Chair.

INFORMATION FOR POSTER PRESENTERS

Each poster is limited in size to 1186 mm high x 900 mm wide and portrait orientation is required.  Larger posters will not fit on the poster boards.  Poster boards will be Velcro compatible, please bring your own Velcro or push pins to mount posters.  Please see the exhibition area map on page 39 for location of posters.  Posters can be mounted from 5.30 pm Sunday and must be removed at 6 pm Wednesday.  Any posters not removed by this time will be discarded.
