Accurate results can be difficult to obtain via Flow Cytometry techniques due the subjective nature of data aquisition and analysis. Variables including but not limited to sample preparation, panel design and the inclusion of apprpriate controls can affect the aquisition of flow cytomerty data. We looked at two major factors which included sample flow rate and sample event rate (cell concentration), during the aquisition and recoding of data. Our findings indicate that significant changes are present in population distribution and hence population CV's, which are apparent when samples are run under non-ideal conditions.
